Jennifer from electro-dance-industrialish band Ayria: This is my view from the stage as I decided to shoot some video of the crowd. This is every musician's dream to hear fans cheer your name. Much love to all of you guys in the crowd, and thanks to everyone who was part of my fantastic weekend. Do you see your self in this video! Post here!
LIVE: Labour Day Weekend Sept 2-5th: Atlanta, GA Live @ Dragon*Con
I wanted to let you know that Ayria will be performing at 2011′s Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA this Labour Day weekend (September 2 – September 5). I’ll be there for the entire weekend to have fun and meet people with our performance scheduled for 12:00 Midnight on Sunday night (technically Monday morning since it starts at Midnight) in the Mariott Maquis Atrium Ballroom.
Dragon*Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US and I’m honoured and excited to get to be a part of this event again for the second time!
Full Details are here: http://www.dragoncon.org/
If you’re attending Dragon*Con, you may already know that Ayria was booked for this show with very short notice, so I need all the help pulling this off as I can get so again, I’m reaching out to those interested in volunteering to help at the merch table selling stuff at an event that runs 24/7 for 3 days! if you’re interested in helping me at all, please send a direct email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
All merch table helpers will be compensated, with a free signed copy sent to them of the upcoming “Plastic Makes Perfect” when it’s released (still TBA and in production currently)
Either way, I hope you stop by to say hi at least. It should be a wicked fun weekend! See the attached Flyer and feel free to help spread the word!
AYRIA LIVE: Sunday October 16th: Toronto, CAN Live @ EBMfest 2011
I’m so excited to be playing my hometown of Toronto again at this awesome event combining all great bands! This will be a fun night. Plus, I finally get to play one of my favourite venues in the city, the Mod Club! I’ve seen so many great bands there, and now I get to take the stage there too! Can’t wait. The show is all ages and early, so expect to see the whole Parkin family attending! See link for full details and where to purchase tickets in store and on-line.
Progress on the new CD “Plastic Makes Perfect”
It’s still in production, we’ve had some delays mainly due to scheduling issues this year, but it’s coming along. I hope to be able to announce the first single soon.. Sorry for the wait everyone, but I appreciate your patience. I just love torturing you with anticipation of what’s to come with this fourth release
So what’s a girl to wear to a fetish prom? I so far have no ideas so I’m hoping this week I’m spending in Montreal at the Kinetik Festival will inspire some new fashion ideas. I’ll be seeing some of the new Plastik Wrap line as they have made so many delicious items for me in the past. Or perhaps I go more risque this time? Hmmm… post your suggestions on what I should wear!
I can’t wait to get to Phoenix for the Prom taking place at the Venue of Scottsdale next Saturday. This is my first time at a Fetish Prom and we are there to party all night long with everyone! We will be playing a nice and long headlining set full of songs we haven’t broken out in a while, and we promise you a night of non-stop electro-industrial danceable energetic fun!
18+ event, $20 advance tickets, $25 at the door. Full Details and Tickets can be found at: http://www.azfetishball.com
LAST MONTH’S EAST AND WEST COAST “ALL THAT GLITTERS” TOUR POST MORTEM:
Thank you to everyone who made it out to see us on the road this past March and April! Some of our first times headlining many of these cities! I felt overwhelmed by the crowds and by the massive amounts of support you showed us. Perhaps you followed along with me on the Ayria Facbook page as I tried to post from all the cities along the way, but tour highlights included 2 encores in Portland, ME, Ayria cupcakes in Portland, OR (maybe it’s a Portland thing on either coast!) Insane crowds in Philly, San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Intimate and energetic crowds in Salem (what an awesome city to see!), D.C., Buffalo, and so many other amazing tour stops along the way, we love you all!! Special thanks to all the promoters and those people that work hard to bring us to your cities, and a special shout out to John and Kim, my 2 street teamers who won the VIP experience of hanging out with me backstage!) Next tour dates will be arranged once the new CD “Plastic Makes Perfect” is done, out and ready to be promoted! Hoping by the end of this year. Progress has been slow, but we’re buckling down for the summer (taking a break from touring) to finish some serious work, productions, planning and preparation. I’m extremely excited and I have so many ideas and things I want to do to coincide with this! I NEED to do another video as awesome as “My Device“, and soon!!!

THANKS FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!
Last week was my Birthday and I received so many birthday wishes, face book posts, and even a few gifts on the road! Thanks you guys! To all my fellow Taureans, happy birthday you stubborn but loyal bulls! I’m always reminded of the Cruxshadow’s song “Birthday” and how another year has come and gone, it’s a yearly reminder that this could be the last day of your life, so question what really matters in life to you? Money? Fame? It just reminds me to take a step back from my routine, and try and appreciate the things I have and have done so I don’t just burn out. I couldn’t do Ayria without you guys, you are the ones who enjoy my music and even care enough to read this far in the newsletter So <3 love to you! Have a wonderful Spring!
Much love, xo..

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Ayria Inspired make up contest! This weekend I reviewed all the entries and I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve chosen 2 first place winners of this contest, plus one runner up! It was too difficult to choose, you are all so beautiful & creative with your looks, I loved the use of the liner, pinks, purples, other funky colours, even the hair too! But these 2 videos seemed to have gone above and beyond as I’m sure you can all see why! I’m sending them both the grand prize pictured below and something to the runner up as well. Thanks to everyone who participated, with special mentions going out: to Chloe, Helena, Kat, Amber (very amazing & informative video! I loved your colours!), Kate (awesome use of intense pink & purple), Kitts (loved your pink & smoky look, you are beautiful!), Leslie (pigtails rocked, your liner was amazing & you are super cute!), Misty Marie (loved your hair, and makeup!)
WINNER: Helena’s Ayria Inspired Make Up: Her video is amazing! I loved her intense use of purples, and using the little stick on gems at the end was so creative:
WINNER: Chloe’s Ayria Inspired Make Up: This girl is incredible! She’s done over 7 videos of different Ayria make up looks, she could pass as my little sister, and she did a great job of putting together her video:
RUNNER UP: Kat’s picture of her pink shadow, black liner, glitter and creative idea to put stars along her cheeks was very cute! Bonus points for the NHL shirt <3
MAKE UP KEEPSAKES:
Everyone else, if you want to have your own piece from my makeup collection, donations of any amount over $15 (or over $20 outside the U.S. and Canada as I need to cover all shipping & the cost of the supplies) I’ll send you 2 sample sized pink & purple pigments (this is the size I bring on tours & from my own experience, it lasts forever!!) pictured below. Anything over $30 I’ll send you all 4 colours including the silver & pink glitter (again, worldwide shipping is included) Every donation will also get a pink jelly bracelet & a personalized signed note to you too! (The make up is all from my personal collection, I’ve divided it into jars from a larger (unused) container! I have too much of these specific colours right now. This is meant as a keepsake from me and will only be available until my own supplies run out. Proceeds go towards helping fund expenses for my upcoming U.S. tour dates!!
Thanks & Love!

Full write up on my blog, including a list of the products used in this video: www.ayria.com By popular request from a bunch of you guys… ok, mostly gals, here's a make up demonstration of me doing my favourite "go to" look: pink & purple eyes, and red lips. I've listed the products in the demo video as I apply them but I've also listed them for you below. Again, I do this just for you guys as it feels very strange doing my makeup on camera and talking about it! I'm no makeup artist! My website also has a contest as well as a way to get a keepsake … Much love, Jenn AYRIA www.ayria.com
Howto & Style
By popular request from a bunch of you guys… ok, mostly gals, here’s a make up demonstration of me doing my favourite go to look of pink & purple eyes, and red lips. I’ve listed the products in the demo video as I apply them but I’ve also listed them for you below. Again, I do this just for you guys as it feels very strange doing my makeup on camera and talking about it! I’m no makeup artist!
- MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation
- MAC Silver Fog Pigment (brow highlight)
- Make Up Forever Neon Pink eye shadow (all over)
- MAC Violet pigment (lash lining)
- Make Up Forever Violet pigment (matte – creases and outer corners)
- MAC liquid eye liner in Boot Black
- Maybelline Great Lash Blackest Black Mascara
- MAC eye pencil in Coffee (for brows shading)
- MAC eye pencil in Ebony (for lower inside rim lining)
- Glitter Liner (some drugstore brand- inner corners of eyes) I usually recommend Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Line
- MAC blush in Pinch O Peach
- MAC Del Rio (this is my absolute favourite & my signature colour since Ayria started!)
- MAC Rebel (in this look I’ve layered 2 colours, to get a bit more pinky lips)
- MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder (sets everything and stops my sweaty face from shining too much while on stage)
I want to see your version of an Ayria inspired look! Either this one, or others, or your own beautiful creation (you don’t have to use your fingers!) submit final pictures, a video demo (you guys can probably teach this stuff better than I can!), whatever you like, but you have to post a link to it here, on ayria.com or post photos or videos on the Ayria Facebook page, so that I see your entry! Please note, you don’t have to look like me girls and boys! It’s about the use of bright colours like pink & purple! Maybe I’ll get inspiration from your looks! Deadline is March 31st, after which I’ll choose a winner to get the below Ayria prize pack:
1 – violet sample sized pigment
1 – magenta sample sized pigment
1 – pink glitter sample sized
1 - of my jelly bracelets and two of my hair bow clips!
1 – personally signed small poster (as shown)
KEEPSAKES: Everyone else, if you want to have your own piece from my makeup collection without entering the contest, if you donate any amount over $15 (or over $20 outside the U.S. and Canada as I need to cover all shipping & the cost of the supplies) I’ll send you a sample sized jar (this is the size I bring on tours & from my own experience, it lasts forever!) of either my pink or purple pigments as pictured below (your choice – just include a note to me) If you want both, donations over $25 worldwide will get both pink & purple samples, and $30 or over get all 4 colours including the silver & pink glitter (again, worldwide shipping is included) plus any one that donates, I’ll include a jelly bracelet & personalized signed note to you too! (The make up is all from my personal collection, I’ve divided it into jars from a larger (unused) container! I have too much of these specific colours right now. This is meant as a keepsake from me and will only be available until my own supplies run low)
I want to let you know that by doing this, I’m trying to come up with creative ways beyond selling music to get your much appreciated support. Any profit made from this will be going towards covering some very high tour expenses I have, in order to make these upcoming U.S. shows happen this March & April
Last week I decided I needed to both clear some room in my closet and make some extra money! I put up for auction, the red dress I wore and featured in the photo shoot of the “Debris” CD (2003) The auction ends in 2 hours so there’s still a bit of time to bid, but I warn you, there’s currently a bidding war in progress. This has inspired me to auction off some other goodies that I’ve had requests for, like the big star ring.. we’ll see, I’ll go digging through my stuff so watch for more eBay auctions of Ayria memorabilia!
A New Song for your audio pleasure!! Last year, I collaborated with Jersey band: Corporate Soldiers on the track “Give It To You”. It’s a sexy, fun, electro clubby song and here it is in it’s entirety for you to listen to!

Enjoy the track, leave feedback, spread the word and support the band:
And since I’m excited over the new gallery of pictures I’ve been getting back from Jeff Turner, I thought I’d share this photo too of me
