What is Ayria - the story so far

First things first. The name "Ayria", is kind of a play on the word "aria" which I think is a beautiful word and I wanted something that had a similar feel but wasn't too overused.  Ayria is my own musical project that was started in January 2003. For the first release "Debris" I originally wanted to work with lots of different musicians for this project and I did work with a variety of artists like Glis, Delobbo, Massiv In Mensch, Iris and DJ Ram/Virtual Server and I think I found a good blend of styles to see my vision through.  For the next release "Flicker" due out this year, it was a different process.  I turned inward to see what I could find musically and relied less on the songwriting capabilities of others.  I wrote all of the songs on "Flicker".  I feel these new songs (although still part of a growing and learning process for me) reflect me deeper than anything I've ever written to date.  I hope others will embrace them and get the same emotions out of them that I put into them.

About me personally:  I am a Canadian girl based in Toronto, Canada.  I have a passion for science, philosophy, and girly things.  I have a degree in Mathematics so I guess I'm also a mathematician.  I like to think I write somewhat insightful lyrics about people, relationships and the world around me and how I feel in it. I hope that people get something out of what I have to say and the delivery in it all but I try not to take everything too seriously.  I have fun with what I do and in life in general.. and that's a little piece of me if you were curious.
